Because You Matter Too: A Mental Health Reminder

Because You Matter Too: A Mental Health Reminder

Welcome to May!
Hey y’all hey,

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and I want to gently remind you of something important: your peace is a priority. In the hustle of being everything to everyone—entrepreneur, mom, friend, boss, wife—it’s easy to lose sight of the one person who needs you most: YOU.

This month is all about creating space to care for your mind, honor your emotions, and protect your energy. For me, that looks like reclaiming my mornings, lighting my Perfect Cup candle, and enjoying a mindful coffee moment before the world gets loud.

Let’s use May as a reminder that mental wellness is daily work—not a luxury or a trend, but a lifestyle. And it starts with giving yourself permission to pause.

🧠 Self-Care Spotlight
Here are three simple ways to support your mental well-being this month:

5 Minutes: Do a morning “check-in” with yourself over coffee—ask, What do I need today?
30 Minutes: Go for a quiet walk without your phone. Let your thoughts wander. Breathe deep.
60 Minutes: Declutter a space that’s been overwhelming you. Light your favorite Me Time candle while you do it—it makes a difference.

What thoughts, habits, or people support my mental peace—and what (or who) no longer aligns with the calm I’m cultivating?

Me Time Challenge: The Mental Reset Ritual
Pick one morning this week to create a “mental reset ritual.” Brew your favorite Me Time Coffee, Light your Me Time Candle and sit in stillness (even just 10 minutes), and set one intention for the day that puts your well-being first.

💬 From Me
I don’t mind being busy. Honestly, I love what I do. But as an entrepreneur working to build a sustainable business—whileserving active duty, while being a spouse and a dog mama—I know how full life can get. Some days, the to-do list feels endless.

What I’ve learned is this: life doesn’t stop “life-ing.” There will always be something or someone that needs our attention. But if we want to keep showing up and producing at a high level, we also have to show up for ourselves.

That’s why I started carving out Morning Me Time. It’s my intentional pause—a moment to just be, outside of all the roles I carry. Sometimes it’s five minutes, sometimes more, but it’s mine. It keeps me grounded and recharged.

This month, I want you to know:
You’re allowed to rest.
You’re allowed to ask for help.
You’re allowed to change your mind, cancel the plans, and choose yourself.

That’s not selfish—that’s what self-preservation looks like.

So take the walk. Sip the coffee. Light the candle. And breathe.
You deserve to feel good—on purpose.
